The office of telecommunications is responsible for providing telecommunication support to faculty, and staff as well as maintaining the campus switchboard.

Logging In for the First Time

  1. Press message button or dial 3400
  2. Press #
  3. Enter your password 1001 followed by #

Record Your Name

  1. Press 1 to record
  2. Press 1 to stop recording
  3. Press # to accept or 1 to record again

Record Greetings

  • For greetings press 3
  • To create greetings press 1
  • Enter your greeting number press 1-9
  • Speak your greeting at the tone
  • Press 1 to stop recording
  • To play back press 23
  • To confirm press #

Activate Greetings

  • For greetings press 3
  • To activate greetings press 3
  • Enter a greeting number 1-9
  • Select the call type 1-9
  • To save press #

Call Types:

  • All Calls 1
  • Internal Calls 2
  • External Calls 3
  • Engaged Calls (Busy) 4
  • No Reply (No Answer) 5
  • Out of Hours 6
  • Out of Service 7
  • Default 8
  • Default Temporary 9
  • To Exit press #

To Deactivate a Greeting

  • For greetings press 3
  • To listen press 0
  • Enter a greeting number 1-9
  • To deactivate press *8

Press Option (Press 5)

  • To change password press 4
  • To record name press 5

Logging In Remotely

  1. Dial your direct number
  2. When your greeting plays, press *7
  3. Enter your ext plus #, enter your pwd plus #

Listening to Your Messages

  • Press 2 to get messages
  • Press 0 to skip header
  • Press 1 to respond/forward
  • Press *3 to delete
  • Press # to skip message

While Listening

  • Press 1 to skip greeting and start recording
  • Press 2 to restart message
  • Press 23 to replay header
  • Press 3 to pause/resume
  • Press 5 to rewind 5 seconds
  • Press 6 to advance 5 seconds

After Listening

  • Press 1 to reply/forward
  • Press *3 to delete and continue to next message
  • Press # to play next message

Additional Options

  • Press *2 for previous message
  • Press **8 to restore recently deleted message
  • Press **9 to hang up and end voicemail

Reply to a Message

  • Whilst listening to a message press 11
  • To reply without original message press 6
  • To reply with original message press 9
  • When finished press #

Forwarding a Message

  • Whilst listening to a message press 1
  • To forward without a comment press 2
  • To record a comment press #
  • Enter mailbox number followed by #
  • Enter # at the end of the list
  • Press # to send

Restarting Your Phone 

If you are having issues with your phone and/or PC connectivity issues, complete the following restart procedures.

  • Unplug the phone from the wall for at least 45 seconds to allow it to totally power down. If you are unable to reach the wall jack, unplug the top most cord from the back of your phone.
  • Plug cord back in and allow phone to restart (this could take approximately 4 minutes). Stay close by to watch the login process in case you need to provide login information.
  • If process asks you to log in, follow the prompts (enter your phone extension and press enter - Enter the phone password and press enter.) The phone password is either (123456) OR (123789).
